What does this error code mean?

Below is a list of devices, their error codes, and troubleshooting steps listed under each code. 

1. S80, Element, Scout, and Trace

  • err2 - there is too much moisture in the sensor of the device

Leave your device in a dry area for a couple of hours to allow the sensor to clear out the excess moisture.

  • outF - there is an issue with the temperature of the device

Leave your device in a room temp setting to allow for the temperature to equalize.

  • BAT - low battery

Replace the batteries.

  • OUT - no breath sample in the ~15 seconds after a test was initiated

Restart the test and blow into the unit once the countdown reaches zero.

  • FLO - insufficient breath sample volume or consistent required to complete a test

Blow steadily into the device for the full duration.


2. C6 and C8

  • LOW BATTERY - battery is low

Replace the batteries.

  • ERROR: NO BLOW DETECTED - no breath sample provided

Restart the test and blow into the unit once the countdown reaches zero.

  • TEMPERATURE - issue with device temperature

Leave your device in a room temp setting to allow for the temperature to equalize.

  • ERROR: BLOW STEADILY FOR SIX SECONDS - insufficient or inconsistent breath sample (flow issue)

Blow steadily into the device for the full duration.


3. Keychain, Go, S35 and T60

  • FL - insufficient airflow to complete a test

Blow steadily into the device for the full duration.

  • Err - the sensor is damaged

The device will need to be sent in for inspection.

  • H - reading over 0.400

The sensor may be overloaded and needs to air out to allow for the sensor to be cleared.

  • Low battery icon - low battery

 Replace the batteries.

  • *SN - T60 only, sensor not ready 

Blow into the device with power off to clear.
